This was an Artists Magazine Forum Challenge. It's Maui. I'm disappointed because it's too much like the photograph. I like to put something of myself into these challenges. 12 x 16, Oil, Canvas Board
The past five years I have been entering my art work in art and craft shows in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
I enjoy painting in Watercolors and Oils, which are posted on my Web Site: artbyspencer.com. You'll find prints of my paintings there also.
I accept art on commission.
Kathy Spencer, self taught artist, started on the road to success with a correspondence course in illustration, (3 years with Famous Artists). She had an oil painting course at Cheltenham Art School in Penna. Then she studied watercolor with Joanna Krasnansky, in Bucks County, PA. During her marriage and while bringing up two boys she studied Intensive Drawing and Watercolor at Tyler School of Art a "division" of Temple University. The campus was in Elkins Park, PA. From there she attended Life Drawing at Bucks County Community College to continue practicing her skills. After her husband died she sought out a career in art and began with the graphic arts. During this time she gained a knowledge of computer graphics on the MAC. Today she finds the computer a great help on improving her paintings--photographing her subject matter and viewing in large size prospective pictures. She also uses the computer to view her paintings in black and white, which is a great help in shading her subjects. Her paintings can be viewed on her WEB site: artbyspencer.com, there she sells her prints and notes if the original is still available. She sells her prints and originals at art and craft shows in the spring and fall. Kathy accepts commissions of your pictures both portraits and house portraits or your favorite scene.
